Yay, desserts!!
You know, I’ve never tried a wedding cake before. The only weddings I’ve ever been to didn’t have any cakes! I don’t know if I would like to have one at my own future wedding because they look so perfect, I don’t know how I’d be able to cut into it!

Anyway, we’ve all seen an episode of cake boss or at least seen pictures of extravagant  and amazingly cool cakes. Personally, though, I like simple cakes. To me, the more plain it is, the better it looks. And although I think macarons look wonderfully pretty and colourful, I’m not a huge fan of them. Hence the lack of any showy cakes or huge arrays of macarons on my moodboard.

In case you didn’t catch it in Gee’s introduction of me, I looove pink! So my favourite cake here is the super-simple-yet-extremely-gorgeous two-tiered pink cake in the bottom left, hehe. I also have a strange liking toward perfectly cut squares (that just me?) so I really love the top right one as well.

Many of these cakes were shot by our very own (Sensei) Gee, meaning that most of these pretty cakes were baked right here in Toronto! Check out Cake Opera Co., The Caketress, or Bobbette & Belle  to ogle at some more beautiful locally-made cakes and other wedding desserts. The cute blue mini-cake in the middle was done by Bobbette & Belle and the plate of macarons is courtesy of Auberge du Pommier.

You think my choice of cakes are too boring? What kind of cakes do you like? :)
